Reunited Manchester band the Happy Mondays have unveiled two London shows for the end of 2012 which will round off their comeback year.

The ‘classic’ Mondays line-up announced their return back in January, and later embarked on a successful tour of the UK in May with support being provided by their fellow Madchester luminaries The Inspiral Carpets. And they will now perform back-to-back gigs at London’s Roundhouse venue on December 19th and 20th, and will be joined by 808 State and other special guests.

After initially ruling out the possibility of their reunion leading to a new album, the Happy Mondays’ manager Warren Askew told NME in July that the group are now planning to enter the studio to record new material.

“Yes, we are now planning to record a new album, after the success of the tour and with the band all getting on so well,” he said. “Shaun has been writing and the band have been getting together in the studio putting ideas down. I’m sure it will be a great Happy Mondays album.”
