Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was in a reflective mood last night (August 26th) as the band brought this year’s Reading Festival to an end with a headline performance on the Main Stage.

Grohl made no secret of the special place he holds for the historic festival, which was the site of Nirvana‘s last ever UK concert in 1992, and used the gig to reel out a selection of rarely heard tracks from the Foo Fighters’ back catalogue. Immediately before ‘These Days‘ he publicly name-checked Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, telling the crowd: “I’d like to dedicate this song to a couple of people who couldn’t be here tonight. This one’s for Krist and this one’s for Kurt.”

The concert, which Dave Grohl revealed will be Foo Fighters’ last for ‘a long time’, was brought to an end with an extravagant fireworks display as the last notes of ‘Everlong‘ faded away.
