The Killers‘ comeback single ‘Runaways‘ will premiere on UK and US radio today (July 10th).

The track is the first official taste of new material from the Las Vegas band’s forthcoming album ‘Battle Born‘, which is expected to be released later this year.

‘Battle Born’ is set to be The Killers’ first album since the four bandmates entered an indefinite hiatus following the completion of promotional duties for their 2008 third studio record ‘Day and Age‘.

During the intervening years, frontman Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vanucci released their own solo records, with Flowers’ ‘Flamingo‘ hitting number one in the UK back in September 2010, while Vanucci’s Big Talk project debuted in July 2011.

“In a sense, all Americans are battle born,” frontman Brandon Flowers told Rolling Stone when the LP’s title was unveiled in May. “Our ancestors came here for something better.”

“It’s living up to its title,” Vanucci added. “This is our difficult fourth record.”
