Tame Impala are streaming ‘Elephant‘, the first single proper to be taken from their forthcoming second album ‘Lonerism‘. The track can be previewed via YouTube below.

The unveiling of ‘Elephant’ follows a previous video trailer and the free download of ‘Apocalypse Dreams‘ as the Australian band prepare to follow up their critically lauded 2010 debut ‘Innerspeaker‘.

Tame Impala are chiefly led by Kevin Parker, while other members of the group have been involved in a series of other projects since the release of ‘Innerspeaker’ two years ago. These include the band Pond, whom drummer Jay Watson has recently told NME will continue to function despite Tame Impala’s return. “I don’t see any reason why we can’t co-exist, we’ve been doing it for years anyway,” he has said. “We’re both really different bands.”

Tame Impala will showcase ‘Lonerism’ in the UK later this year with three live dates, beginning at the Brixton Academy in London on October 30th. Gigs at the Manchester HMV Ritz and Sheffield Leadmill will then follow on the 1st and 2nd of November respectively.
