Acts including headliners Snow Patrol and New Order are due perform during the first day of this year’s T In The Park festival today (July 6th), with severe weather warnings already in place for the weekend.

Snow Patrol are set to top the Main Stage’s Friday bill, which also features the likes of Florence & The Machine and the Kaiser Chiefs, while New Order will headline the Slam Tent.

And as the Scottish festival gets in full swing today, weather warnings have already been issued as much of England and Scotland prepares for another weekend of heavy rainfall, with Saturday and Sunday predicted to be especially severe according to Aisling Creevey, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association.

“Friday will probably be the best day weather-wise, but rain will always be close by,” she has said. “It will get more unsettled into the evening with rain pushing up from northern England and settling over Scotland.”

“Saturday will be much the same and there could be some torrential downpours in central Scotland. Sunday isn’t looking greater either but there will be a few dry spells. It will also turn a bit cooler with northern winds making the area unseasonably cool.”
