Radiohead have paid tribute to the member of their road crew who was tragically killed in a stage collapse last month.

The British band were returning to the stage for the first time since the death of Scott Johnson, and filled their big screen with pictures of their late drum technician during a performance of ‘Reckoner‘ at the Les Arenes in Nimes, France.

33-year-old Scott Johnson of Doncaster, South Yorkshire died when a part of the stage being set up at Downsview Park, Toronto collapsed, injuring three other people, one seriously.

In a statement released on their official website shortly after, Radiohead described Johnson as a ‘lovely man’. “We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague,” they said.

“He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny, a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott’s family and all those close to him.”
