Queen‘s 1975 single ‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘ is ‘the UK’s favourite number one’ according to a poll conducted by ITV and the Official Charts Company to mark the 60th anniversary of the UK Singles chart.

Always a front-runner every time these rundowns are compiled, the track came out on top immediately above Michael Jackson‘s ‘Billie Jean‘ and Adele‘s recent single ‘Someone Like You‘, which placed second and third respectively.

Oasis‘ 1996 anthem ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger‘ and The Beatles‘ own mass singalong ‘Hey Jude‘ completed the top 5, while John Lennon‘s ‘Imagine‘, which hit the top spot in the UK back in 1981 following Lennon’s tragic death, placed at #6 after previously topping a similar countdown conducted by Channel 4 in 2000.

1. Queen – ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’
