Songwriter Newton Faulkner is on top of this week’s UK Record Store Album Chart with his latest LP ‘Write It On Your Skin‘.

Last week’s number one – the King Blues‘ ‘Long Live The Struggle‘ – drops to #8 on a week which sees the top six places on the chart all taken up by new entries.

Immediately behind Faulkner is Dan Le Sac with his ‘Space Between The Words‘ record, while hotly-tipped new singer Lianne La Havas, Dirty Projectors, Rush and Canterbury are the other acts debuting in the top six on the chart which is complied entirely by sales registered at the UK’s independent record stores.
