New Order closed their first ever live appearance in Poland last night (July 4th) by airing a couple of Joy Division classics as part of a career-spanning set.

New Order were headlining the first night of Poland’s Open’er festival in Gdansk, and treated fans to a performance packed with favourites from their long, influential career, including the classic singles ‘True Faith‘ and ‘Blue Monday‘.

They then re-emerged for a special encore which comprised the Joy Division anthems ‘Transmission‘ and ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart‘.

Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert announced their return to the live scene last year – much to the ire of original bass player Peter Hook. Since confirming two special benefit gigs in aid of music video producer Michael Shamberg, who has been suffering with a debilitating illness since 2005, New Order have embarked on a series of UK and European dates, and will headline Bestival in September.
