New Blur tracks ‘Under The Westway’ and ‘The Puritan’ debuted online

blur3Blur debuted their brand new double A-side single yesterday evening (July 2nd) during a live performance from the rooftop of their London studios.

The short gig was beamed round the world via a live Twitter video feed, and gave fans a first glimpse of ‘Under The Westway‘ and ‘The Puritan‘ in a full band setting. The single is now available to download, and will be released on a physical 7″ format on August 6th.

Speaking last week, Blur’s frontman Damon Albarn gave no indication as to whether the songs will form part of a new, full length album at some point in the future, stating instead that they were merely ‘written for Hyde Park’.

“I wrote these songs for Hyde Park and I’m really excited about getting out there and playing them for people,” he remarked.

Blur will appear at Hyde Park in August on a bill which also includes New Order and The Specials to mark the end of this year’s London Olympic Games.
