Blur have been confirmed as the ‘very special guests’ who will headline the Converse Represent series of gigs on August 2nd at London’s 100 Club.

The show will be one of what are now six low-key UK gigs scheduled for Blur ahead of their high profile appearance at London’s Hyde Park with New Order and The Specials next month. In addition to the 100 Club show, the band will perform an intimate Maida Vale session for BBC Radio on July 31st, and also have shows booked at Margate’s Winter Gardens venue on August 1st, Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall on August 5th and 6th and finally the Plymouth’s Pavilions on August 7th.

Blur join several other previously announced headliners which include Plan B and Paul Weller, with the former kicking off the run of dates on July 30th, while Weller will make his appearance on August 1st.

“Represent builds on our global commitment to music. We’re excited to bring such an amazing and diverse roster of artists under one roof and to give music fans around the world a chance to participate in the action through our live streams or here on the ground in London,” Geoff Cottrill of Converse’s Chief Marketing Office has said.
