Blur have announced details of a special one-off gig at Maida Vale studios in London for BBC 6Music.
The band will perform a special session for 6Music DJ Steve Lamacq on July 31st, with fans being invited to win tickets for the event by applying through this link.
The news comes as Blur prepare to headline a concert in Hyde Park next month to celebrate the end of this summer’s Olympic Games, topping a bill which also includes New Order and The Specials. They will warm-up for the show with four low-key UK dates earlier in August, beginning at Margate’s Winter Gardens venue on the 1st, before moving on to Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall for two gigs on August 5th and 6th. A final date will follow at the Plymouth’s Pavilions on August 7th.
A double A-side single – ‘Under The Westway‘ and ‘The Puritan‘ – has been written for the Hyde Park appearance, and is available to download now. A physical 7″ will follow on August 6th.Just Published:
