Alternative trio Ben Folds Five have confirmed their first studio album since 1999′s ‘The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner‘ will be released on September 18th through ImaVeePee Records/Sony Music Entertainment.
‘The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind‘ is the latest album to be made possible by the PledgeMusic initiative, and will be supported with a series of headline tour dates and festival appearances across North America, Australia and the UK and Ireland during the coming months.
The expanded tour itinerary comes after an initial group of dates were unveiled early last month; the North American dates will now continue throughout the majority of September, while shows in Detroit and Buffalo are also due on October 2nd and 5th respectively.
November will see the band undertake three Australian gigs for the Harvest Festival before the UK & Ireland leg launches at the Bristol Academy on November 23rd. The Irish stop will arrive on the 26th at Vicar Street in Dublin, with proceedings eventually being rounded off with twin gigs at London’s Brixton Academy on December 4th and 5th.
