The Stone Roses return to the stage in Sweden with ‘group hug’

The Stone Roses returned to the stage last night with a ‘group hug’ following drummer Reni‘s early departure from their gig in Amsterdam earlier this week.

In leaving the show before a planned encore performance of ‘I Am The Resurrection‘ after reportedly suffering with sound problems, Reni prompted frontman Ian Brown to later tell the waiting crowd that ‘the drummer’s a c**t’, and created the first negative headlines for the reunited band not long into their comeback summer tour.

However, all was well yesterday (June 14th) when the group performed at the Hulstfred Festival in Sweden, this time running through their setlist in full before indulging in a little public display of affection by sharing a group hug in front of fans.

On June 29th, the Manchester icons will begin their three-night, homecoming run at Heaton Park, with bands such as Primal Scream, Beady Eye and The Vaccines set to support the Roses over the course of the weekend.
