MGMT, Best Coast and The Kills are amongst the acts who have contributed tracks to a new Fleetwood Mac covers album.
The as-yet-untitled album is due for release in the US on September 14th, and has been produced by Randall Poster, who has previously worked on a similar Buddy Holly tribute record entitled ‘Rave On‘. A UK release date is still to be confirmed.
Amongst the notable contributions are Sonic Youth‘s Lee Ranaldo and Dinosaur Jr‘s J Mascis collaboration on the instrumental track ‘Albatross‘ – the signature anthem of Sixties-era Fleetwood Mac - while Antony Hegarty of Antony & The Johnsons will offer his take of ‘Landslide‘.
