Kasabian guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno has named Hollywood movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of his band’s more unexpected celebrity fans, revealing the actor ‘works out to one of our albums’.
“Arnold Schwarzenegger said he works out to one of our albums, which is pretty mad,” Pizzorno said when asked by Metro about Kasabian’s strangest celebrity fans. “And Carol Vorderman – that’s a crazy pair. We played a show at The Box in London and she was in the audience. I looked out and scanned through the crowd and thought: ‘Fucking hell that’s Carol Vorderman.’”
Later, Pizzorno also flagged up the extinct British rock band the Cooper Temple Clause for being responsible for his worst ever gig experiences, branding them ‘miserable bastards’ after Kasabian supported the group in their early days.
“Playing with the Cooper Temple Clause in Wrexham when we first started,” he said. “The gig was fine but they were miserable bastards. We were a young band and they’d had singles out – they treated us like shit. I remember thinking: ‘I’m not turning out like those fuckers.’ Musicians should try to help each other out. The ones who are too cool for that soon disappear but there are some who slip through the net and annoy you forever.”Just Published:
