Coldplay will open up this month’s Capital Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, it has been confirmed.
The British band will be first up on June 9th at Wembley on a bill dominated by leading pop acts such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson.
Coldpay’s appearance at the Capital Summertime Ball, which will be broadcast on Capital FM from 4pm this Saturday (June 9th), follows their own recent headline shows at the Emirates Stadium in London as part of a spring tour of UK stadiums.
The tour will continue tomorrow (June 7th) at Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light, with a final date due at the Etihad Stadium on the same day as their Summertime Ball appearance.
Earlier this week, the band unveiled the video for ‘Princess Of China‘, which features a high profile guest appearance from pop superstar Rihanna. ‘Princess Of China’ is the fourth single to be taken from Coldplay’s 2011 album ‘Mylo Xyloto‘; following ‘Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall‘, ‘Charlie Brown‘ and the UK number one ‘Paradise‘.
