Twin Atlantic‘s second studio album ‘Free‘ is amongst the records shortlisted for the inaugural Scottish Album Of The Year prize.
Twin Atlantic join the likes of King Creosote & Jon Hopkins – who were also nominated for the 2011 Mercury Music Prize – Tommy Smith and Mogwai on the shortlist.
The new award has been initiated by the Scottish Music Industry Association, and offers a prize of £20,000 to the winner, with runners-up receiving £1,000. The list of artists was handpicked from over 100 personal nominations made by music and arts industry figures from across Scotland.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on June 19th at Glasgow’s Film City venue.
