Red Hot Chili Peppers will release a series of stand-alone singles over the course of the next six months, according to messages posted by the band on Twitter.

Writing on Twitter, the band’s bass player Flea claimed their recent ‘I’m With You‘ album will shortly be followed up with a run of 18 single releases, writing they will, ‘put out 18 new songs over the next 6 months on 7 inch and digi’.

The tweet arrives in the wake of a similar message left by drummer Chad Smith, who told his Twitter followers the Chili Peppers have ‘at least 10 more B-sides off I’m With You to release’.

In addition, frontman Anthony Kiedis also told fans at a recent gig in Grand Rapids during their current US tour to look out for, ‘a storm of seven-inches coming out over the next six months’, reports Exclaim.ca.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ US tour will continue in Detroit tomorrow (June 1st). After its completion in Louisville next week, the Californian group will hit the UK for a high profile headline date at Knebworth Park on June 23rd.
