Mick Jagger will have a pair of prestigious backing bands when he hosts the season finale of Saturday Night Live this weekend (May 19th).

The Rolling Stones frontman, who was confirmed to appear on the iconic, long running US show last week, will be backed by the Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire during his musical stints, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Reports suggest Jagger will perform two songs on the programme – one with Arcade Fire and one with the Foo Fighters, as well as guesting on some sketches. Rumours are also abound that Jeff Beck will be adding even more rock royalty to proceedings by putting in an appearance.

The show will mark Arcade Fire’s third performance on Saturday Night Live, with their last gig to date on the series coming in 2010. Foo Fighters have appeared six times on SNL during their career, while the band’s frontman Dave Grohl has racked up 11 guest spots.
