‘Financial pressures’ cancels another UK festival

cloud9This year’s Cloud 9 festival has become the latest in an ever-growing list of UK summer events to cancel its 2012 leg, citing ‘financial pressures’ as the major reason for its decision.

The festival had been due to take place at Cheshire’s Love Lane Farm on August 11th, with the likes of Benjamin Francis Leftwich, The Whip and All The Young booked to perform.

However, organisers have announced its cancellation today, with ticket buyers now being able to request a full refund from their point of purchase.

“After some difficult conversations, it with a heavy heart and deep regret that, due to financial pressures, we announce to you the cancellation of Cloud 9 Festival 2012,” a statement reads.

“We are so very sad to have to end a project that has been so dear to us for the past four years, we can’t express how heartbreaking this decision has been to make. The festival environment this year has been incredibly difficult for many small, independent festivals and has proved to be too challenging for us to overcome.”
