Coldplay were the big winners in the specialist rock categories at yesterday’s (May 20th) Billboard Awards, on a night when Adele cleared up the ceremony’s main prizes.
Coldplay were named Top Rock and Top Alternative artists ahead of the likes of The Black Keys and the Foo Fighters at last night’s MGM Grand ceremony, while their album ‘Mylo Xyloto‘ picked up the Rock and Alternative Album gongs. The British band were beaten to the Best Rock Song however, which instead went to Foster The People for their breakthrough single ‘Pumped Up Kicks‘.
Adele was named Top Artist at the 2012 Billboards, while her numerous other triumphs on the evening included Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for ‘21‘.
