Beck to release one-off single on Jack White’s Third Man label

beckwideBeck will release a new single later this month on Jack White‘s Third Man Records label.

The limited-edition single will comprise the tracks ‘I Just Started Hating Some People Today‘ and ‘Blue Randy‘, and will be released on May 28th through Third Man on a limited number of coloured seven-inch vinyl.

In addition, 100 tri-colour versions will go on sale exclusively from Randy’s Records in Salt Lake City on June 2nd, while a digital version will be made available via iTunes.

The tracks were recorded at the Third Man studios in Nashville last year as part of the sessions for the follow-up to Beck’s 2008 album ‘Modern Guilt‘, which remain ongoing.

Beck follows in the footsteps of other artists such as Tom Jones, Laura Marling and Insane Clown Posse in releasing a one-off single on Third Man. The single marks the second spot of activity for Beck this year, after he earlier contributed a cover of the traditional song ‘Corrina, Corrina‘, to the charity album ‘Every Mother Counts Volume 2‘.
