Suede have scrapped a large portion of new songs they aired during their 2011 comeback shows, and have instead begun work on a fresh batch of material with their former producer Ed Buller, according to the band’s frontman Brett Anderson.

Review: Fossil Collective – ‘Let It Go’ EP

The funeral cortège moved slowly, with probably more respect than was due; the thousands of those lining the streets were smiling, but the feeling in the air wasn’t particularly sad, or triumphant, more one of relief.

As the long, winding column of not really mourners, more seeing offers came to an abrupt halt beneath the tall building, anticipation rose. A song was playing. It ebbed and flowed, melodies shimmering to match the sun reflecting back through the eddys of the water below. The song was called ‘Guaratuba‘. A breeze sprung up and the singer’s words, seeming to come from out of the ether themselves, bathed the good natured throng in sweetness and humility.

Plans revealed for John Peel Arts Centre in Yorkshire

The sounds of the suburbs have unveiled plans for a new John Peel Centre for Creative Arts to be built in the Yorkshire city of Bradford, with the aim of housing a museum dedicated to the music scene in the North, a listening room where people will be able to access the digitised archive of John Peel’s record collection and a focal point for major upcoming acts.
