The Gaslight Anthem have announced their return with the new single ‘45‘.

The track is the first to be taken from the New Jersey band’s upcoming fourth album ‘Handwritten‘, and is set to receive its world premiere on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show next Monday (April 30th).

“Finally! We are proud to announce that our first single from Handwritten named “45” will receive it’s world premier as Zane Lowe Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1 Monday night at 7:30 BST,” the band said in a message on Facebook. “We are so excited for you to hear it.”

‘Handwritten’ is the follow-up to 2010’s ‘American Slang‘ and was recorded principally in Nashville earlier this year. The group confirmed recording had been completed last February.

The Gaslight Anthem unveiled plans for their first UK gig of 2012 recently, and will appear at the London KOKO on June 11th. The band are also due to support Soundgarden on a selection of European dates this summer.
