The Cribs: Music is due a ‘radical new band’

cribsThe Cribs bassist Gary Jarman has said the music world is due a ‘radical band’ to reignite mainstream interest in rock n roll.

Speaking in today’s Daily Star, Jarman revealed his own group are trying to bring back the traditional single format with a series of special releases, but also admitted a new, inspiring band is needed to buck the recent trend of low sales in the UK charts.

“B-side and single releases are dead, which I think is a terrible shame,” Jarman said. “We’re trying to bring it back by releasing different versions of the new album with bonus tracks and extras for the fans.”

“This business about bands going out of fashion is old news. The same thing happened in the 90s after Britpop. I think we’re due a radical band to come through and inspire everyone now.”

The Cribs will release their new album ‘In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull‘ on May 7th.
