The Beatles‘ classic 1968 single ‘Hey Jude‘ is the most downloaded Fab Four track according to figures released today (April 17th) by the Official Chart Company.

Paul McCartney‘s enduringly popular sing-a-long anthem, the first released on Apple Records, is ahead of ‘Let It Be‘ and George Harrison‘s classic ‘Abbey Road‘ album track ‘Here Comes The Sun‘, while ‘Twist and Shout‘ and ‘Come Together‘ – another ‘Abbey Road’ favourite – complete the top 5.

The rundown has been compiled as 2012 marks both the 60th anniversary of the Official Singles Chart and the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ first single release.
