The collaboration between The Flaming Lips and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin has been released online and can be listened to below.

Entitled ‘I Don’t Want You To Die‘, the track formed a part of The Flaming Lips’ special Record Store Day release ‘Heady Fwends‘, which also included appearances from the likes of Yoko Ono, Bon Iver and Tame Impala.

Ahead of the album’s release, frontman Wayne Coyne had outlined an unusual plan to make the record even more unique, telling MTV Hive:

“What I’m going to try to do — and I’m collecting stuff for it as we speak — is I’m going to try to make a record that has every person’s blood in the record.”

“I don’t have everybody’s blood just yet, but I collected quite a few vials of blood and it’s actually sitting in my refrigerator as we speak. I’m going to try to take that same concept and put little bits of everybody’s blood in the middle of this record. Like a glass specimen thing.”

According to reports, the album could be set for a wider digital release via iTunes within the next month.
