The entire back catalogue of the Red Hot Chili Peppers has been made available on Spotify for the first time to coincide with the band’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame tomorrow (April 13th), after an exclusive deal was agreed between the two parties.

Stretching from the Californian funk rockers’ self-titled 1984 debut to last year’s ‘I’m With You‘ album, the band’s long and varied career is now able to be listened to in full on the music streaming service.

Meanwhile, yesterday Spotify announced the launch of their new Spotify Play Button, which will enable any song, album or playlist to be played on third party online services, legally and for free. “Today we’re giving every blogger and web editor the ability to light up the internet with music,” Gustav Söderström, the chief product officer at Spotify remarked.

“Adding a personalised soundtrack to your website or blog has never been this easy. You want to give your fans access to any song, album or playlist of your choosing and in its entirety, while ensuring people stay glued to your site.

“The Spotify Play Button does all of this for free, while making sure artists get paid for every play.”
