Garbage drummer and respected producer Butch Vig has said it’s ‘been fun’ to work with Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic in the studio again.

Butch Vig has been in the studio with the former Nirvana pair as Dave Grohl continues work on a documentary looking at Sound City Studios, where Vig famously produced Nirvana’s landmark second album ‘Nevermind‘.

Vig revealed on Twitter recently that he has been in the studio with Grohl and Novoselic, and has now given NME a few more details of those sessions:

“It’s a work in progress,” he said. “We’re not really sure how it’s all gonna end up at this point but it’s been fun. There’s still quite a bit more work to do and we hope to finish up in the next three or four months, and try get it all mixed and completed some time in the fall.”

Other notable albums recorded at the LA studios include Fleetwood Mac‘s ‘Rumours‘, Neil Young‘s ‘After the Gold Rush‘ and Rage Against The Machine‘s self-titled LP.
