The reasons why there’s been almost five years between Seventeen Evergreen‘s first album Life Embarrasses Me on Planet Earth are you assume, like the public biographies of their San Franciscan members Nehpi Evans and Caleb Pate, buried deep in a vault several hundred feet beneath the ground. Whether this exile was self imposed or due to less foreseen circumstances remains equally shrouded in mystery. Interviewed in London in 2008 the pair were already referring to a second album being made, but despite it’s awful title and lengthy gestation period the contents of Steady On, Scientist make the wait positively worthwhile.
