Damon Albarn has unveiled the video for the first official single to be taken from his ‘Dr. Dee‘ solo album, which is due for release through Parlophone on May 7th. The promo can be viewed below.
‘The Marvelous Dream‘ is taken from the 18-track album, recorded late last year with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and which comprises music inspired by the mathematician and polymath John Dee. After sessions at Albarn’s own London studios, the record was mixed by Valgeir Sigursson in Reykjavik.
The opera will be performed with the album’s guest singers at OneFest on April 14th. “I’m really looking forward to the festival; Wiltshire in spring feels like a perfect setting for Dr Dee songs,” Albarn has said of the festival appearance.
“Some of my favourite musicians are playing with me, it will be special.”
