The Walkmen will release seventh album in June

walkmenThe Walkmen will release their new album ‘Heaven‘ in June, the band have confirmed.

Out on June 4th, the record has been produced by The Shins and Fleet Foxes cohort Phil Ek, and will feature Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold providing harmonies on two tracks. “We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement,” frontman Hamilton Leithauser has said of their seventh LP. “There can be something brittle about our sound,” Paul Maroon added.

“He made it just a little bit warmer, a little bit stronger,” Maroon said of their producer. “When I play it in my car, it sounds strong, which I love.”

The album will be the follow up to 2010’s sublime ‘Lisbon‘. A real celebration of modern rock, ‘Lisbon’s layered composition, from the sweeping anthemic qualities of ‘Angela Surf City‘ to the brass-led melancholic splendour of ‘Stranded‘, made it one of the Live4ever’s essential albums of that year.
