Noel Gallagher has said he is still not speaking to his estranged brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam, but plans on doing so when he is not ‘busy’.

The pair’s famously acrimonious partnership finally reached breaking point in August 2009, leading to the end of Oasis and seemingly any thread of a relationship between the siblings.

And now, in an interview BBC4, Noel has said there is still no communication between the brothers ‘of any significance’ nearly three years on, but has insisted he will speak to Liam again once his schedule allows for it…

“There is no contact of any significance, to my mother’s disgust,” he said. “But we are big boys now, she can’t tell us what to do forever. It’s not the last time I’m ever going to speak to him. Of course I’m going to speak to him again but I’m busy.”

Liam Gallagher recently confirmed his new band Beady Eye plan to play Oasis songs live when they appear at the Fuji Rock festival in Japan later this year.
