“In rock ’n’ roll some tales are just too perfect to make up. And the back story of The Ready Stance is definitely one of them. A truly perfect storm that unfolded within one square block of the historic district in Newport, Kentucky, just across the Ohio from Cincinnati.”

Billy Vincent, the London folk rock quintet have just announced details of their debut album ‘She’. The album sees the band build on their ep releases last year with a fully formed debut that builds on the bands influences – a combination of indie folk tracks from the likes of early Noah and The Whale, punkish folk tales of Pogues-esq statue and the more idyllic Americana tales of Alison Krauss and Union Station.”

China Rats are a four piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Leeds, who are all swagger and tight jeans, inspired by a love of punk’s riotous guitars, 50’s pop and classic British guitar bands. “Starting back in March 2011, Andy Clifford and James Bradley had a musical vision to write music that was simple, catchy, riff driven and would reach out to a mass audience. Taking influences from their favourite bands from Foo Fighters and Weezer, to Nirvana and Nine Black Alps, in the short time since there first jam session, Since Monroe‘s success has snowballed. With the addition of Rich and Matt Tregortha, Since Monroe in its current form was born. Through radio and the internet, Since Monroe‘s songs have been picking up accolades along the way (Track of the Week on Amazing FM’s Rock Show and Band of the Week on Noize Level Critical).”

“‘Black Brick Wall’ finds Sansa her pop side in the spotlight with a mesmeric combination of soft, romantic vocals, acoustic guitars and vintage drum beats. Reminiscent of Lykke Li at her pomp, ‘Black Brick Wall’ goes to emphasise just how Sansa fits in with her peers as one of a new breed of salacious songstresses.”

“Having brought his brash, punk attitude and rockabilly ways to the UK for the first time last month and fresh from storming sets at this year’s SXSW, New York’s Devin is set to release his debut album ‘Romancing’ on April 30th through No Evil. “The ever art-driven Lupen Crook, whose 2011 album ‘Waiting For The Post-Man’, its subsequent singles and home-made videos received acclaim across the underground alternative music press, has of late turned attention to his Broken Art Works. The unique style of painting he has developed, which incorporates puzzle pieces, oil paint and other ‘found and recycled objects’ has seen a surge of interest over the last few years, with successful exhibitions in both London and the South East prompting growing sales of his work, not to mention his continued musical output of hand-crafted releases.”

“In this first of two new albums planned for release in 2012, Mount Eerie presents a monumental work of depth and maturity. These are songs about a quiet life in and around a small northwest town, usually buried in fog, and the unexpected moments of clarity that briefly flash through. Clear Moon is the resonant lone bell symbol, the glint in the water, the sudden breath.”

“Coming off their big win for “Best Indie Rock Artist” at the Artists in Music Awards 2012, and being nominated for best International Artist in the LA Music Awards, Sydney’s buzz act Monks of Mellonwah are now ready to release their new EP “Neurogenesis”. “Crowned the NME Breakthrough Band ahead of a shortlist including Clock Opera and Fiction, The ABC Club‘s first single was hailed by Artrocker as ‘a luminous piece of artrock…Exhilarating but intimate’, and the White Lies EP is a mighty successor.”

“2011 saw the digital release of the ‘Willow Tree’ EP through the independent label Young & Lost Club (home of Noah and the Whale and Johnny Flynn) and support slots for Joshua Radin, Doves, Mumford & Sons, Fionn Regan and the Freelance Whales – all of which has helped make Thomas and his melodic vocal stylings a must see. The EP received widespread acclaim for it’s insightful lyrics and intricate arrangements, including Ryan Adams, who acknowledged the sound as “so beautiful”.This, in addition to support from Sir Paul McCartney, suggest that Thomas J Speight is one to watch.”
