Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan‘s attentions are already turning to album number five following the release of ‘Velociraptor!‘ in September last year.

Speaking at the NME Awards earlier this week, Meighan revealed the band are planning to hit the studio following the completion of ‘Velociraptor’s touring duties, and also said the new album has the (extremely) early working title of ‘Trial By Stone’.

“‘Trial By Stone’ is the working title for the record, I want to call it ‘Trial By Stone’,” Meighan explained. Serge might change it, he might not, but ‘Trial By Stone’ sounds pretty good.”

Meanwhile, Meighan believed Kasabian’s triumph on the night of the NME Awards, when they picked up the Best British Band prize, was overshadowed by the sad death of Monkees frontman Davy Jones.

It’s nice it’s an achievement … I’m over the moon,” he continued. “But fuck tonight man, tonight belongs to Davy Jones from The Monkees. There’s a hole in rock’n’roll – I dedicate that award to him.”
