Graham Coxon to support Paul Weller at Cheshire festival

Graham Coxon has been confirmed as the main support for Paul Weller‘s upcoming gig at the Live from Jodrell Bank festival.

The occasional Blur guitarist, who appears on Weller’s new album ‘Sonik Kicks‘ and is also due to release his own solo record ‘A + E‘ next month, is set to play immediately before the Modfather on June 24th.

The weekend-long festivities, held in the shadow of the giant Lovell Telescope in Cheshire and taking place this year on June 23rd and 24th, will contain a host of hands-on science workshops, lectures and experiments for ticket holders, with Elbow headlining the first night.

Located 20 miles outside of Manchester, the Lovell telescope is the third largest in the world, and has become a well known feature of the area since it first began operations in 1957.

‘Sonik Kicks’ became Paul Weller’s fourth solo chart topper when it reached number one on the UK Album Chart last Sunday (March 25th). According to midweek figures, the LP is set to be displaced by Madonna on its second week on the chart.
