Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Sex Pistols join Record Store Day


arcticmonkeys3Arctic Monkeys, Sex Pistols and Kasabian have become the latest bands to announce plans for special releases in support of this year’s Record Store Day.

Arctic Monkeys will issue the single ‘R U Mine?‘ on a special purple vinyl, which is to be backed with the brand new track ‘Electricity‘. Kasabian have announced plans to release covers of Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Video Games‘ and Gwen Stefani’s ‘Sweet Escape‘ on 7″ vinyl, while the Sex Pistols are to re-issue their classic 1976 single ‘Anarchy In The UK‘, with its original b-side ‘I Wanna Be Me‘. The special single is to be limited to 3500 copies worldwide.




In addition, The Clash have confirmed their own plans for Record Store Day, and will release a digitally remastered version of ‘London Calling‘ on vinyl.

This year’s Record Store Day will fall on April 21st. The likes of Noel Gallagher, The White Stripes and Bloc Party have all already announced their own participation in this year’s initiative.
