Former Guns n Roses guitarist Slash has been added to the bill for this summer’s Download Festival.

Slash joins the previously announced headliners Metallica, Black Sabbath and The Prodigy at the event, while Rise Against and Steel Panther have also been recently signed up.

Last month, Download organiser Andy Copping confirmed that despite the news of Tony Iommi‘s cancer diagnosis, Black Sabbath are still due to appear at the festival as originally planned.

“As far as I’m aware everything is fine,” Copping told NME. “I’ve been told that Black Sabbath are going to be playing Download. I don’t want people to worry unduly about that, we should all just send our thoughts and best wishes to Tony Iommi.”

This year’s Download festival will take place on the weekend of June 8th-10th.
