Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder has denied their reunion schedule will include a spot supporting fellow Manchester reformers The Stone Roses.

Rumours had suggested the Mondays would join their Mancunian contemporaries at three sold out Heaton Park shows in June but, in an interview with Real Radio, Ryder has said those whispers are ‘absolute garbage’.

“I’ll put this straight; there’s no plans, it’s absolutely garbage that we are going to be playing at Heaton Park with Stone Roses, that’s rubbish,” he told the station’s Evening Show host David Heane.

Later, Ryder also confirmed there are as yet ‘absolutely no plans’ to record a new album following the completion of their comeback UK tour, whose dates open up on May 3rd at the Newcastle O2 Academy, with support provided throughout by The Inspiral Carpets.
