Paul McCartney was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame yesterday (February 9th), and also played a short, exclusive set following the ceremony.

The songwriting legend, who achieved silver-screen success back in the Sixties with The Beatles thanks to films such as A Hard Day’s Night and Help, attended the ceremony outside the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles, before moving inside for a short set with Diana Krall and her band.

Capitol Records was the site of the recording of McCartney’s new studio album ‘Kisses On The Bottom‘ which, along with two of his own original compositions, contains covers of tracks which inspired him as a child.

According to midweek figures, McCartney could miss out on the top spot of the Album Chart in the UK, with Lana Del Rey and newcomer Maverick Sabre both ahead of ‘Kisses On The Bottom’ by Wednesday.

The official UK Album Chart will be announced this Sunday (February 12th).
