Foo Fighters will duet with dance star Deadmau5 at the Grammy Awards, show producer Ken Ehrlich has said.
Ehrlich has told the Associated Press Foo Fighters will appear on stage with Deadmau5 for a remixed version of their single ‘Rope‘, a track that features on their 2011 LP ‘Wasting Light‘, which is up for Album Of The Year.
Earlier this week, Bon Iver leader Justin Vernon revealed he turned down the chance to perform at this year’s ceremony, as he didn’t want to be forced into a similar collaboration.
“We kind of said ‘fuck you’ a little bit, and they sort of acted like they wanted us to play, but I don’t think they wanted us to play.” he explained.
“We wanted to play our music, but were told that we couldn’t play. We had to do a collaboration with someone else. And we just felt like it was such a large stage – we’re getting nominated for this record that we made. We were given accolades for it, and all of a sudden we were being asked to play music that had nothing to do with that.”
This year’s Grammy Awards will take place on February 12th at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles.
