Coldplay have cancelled a planned appearance in Australia due to ‘personal reasons’.

The British band were due to fly out to Sydney on promotional duties for their recent album ‘Mylo Xyloto‘ ahead of a wider Australian tour later this year, but have now apologised to fans for the cancellation.

“We sincerely apologise to our Australian fans for having to postpone next week’s scheduled trip, a statement reads. “We miss you guys and we promise we’ll make it up to you. In fact, stay tuned for a big announcement soon.”

Coldplay will be attending the Brit Awards later this month, where they are nominated for the British Album and British Band prizes. Rumours of an onstage collaboration between the band’s frontman Chris Martin and his friend Noel Gallagher began circulating this week when Brits host James Corden told BBC Radio 2:

“I think – and I don’t know if this is true and I’m almost certain that I’m not supposed to tell you – that Chris Martin is going to accompany Noel Gallagher on the piano.”
