Former X Factor contestant Marcus Collins has made everyone’s day by unveiling his take on The White Stripes‘ modern classic of a single ‘Seven Nation Army‘.

Collins finished as runner-up in the 2011 series of X Factor, and has been biding his time in order to find the right way to launch his pop career, and has now surprisingly enough opted to go down the well-trodden ‘cover version’ trail.

“I’m a huge fan of the original ‘Seven Nation Army’ and I hope people like my take on it,” Collins said. “I’m so happy to be releasing my debut album and can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

“The music is really coming together. I’ve found my niche now, I’ve found exactly what it is that I want to do and it’s looking good.”

‘Seven Nation Army’ was the lead single taken from The White Stripes’ superb 2003 album ‘Elephant‘ and became the duo’s first UK top ten hit.
