Velvet Revolver covered Pink Floyd at a comeback gig in Los Angeles this week, during a show which saw the band reunite with one-time frontman Scott Weiland.

Velvet Revolver were appearing at an event organised by guitarist Dave Kushner entitled ‘Love You Madly’, which was held in honour of the late film composer John O’Brien, who died last August. The four-song set with Weiland included a cover of the Floyd classic ‘Wish You Were Here‘. Also performed on the night were ‘Sucker Train Blues,’ ‘She Builds Quick Machines‘ and ‘Slither‘.

Maroon 5, Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello and Sheryl Crow also performed on the bill, with Crow being joined by Stephen Stills for a run-through of Buffalo Springfield‘s ‘For What It’s Worth‘.

Velvet Revolver have been on the lookout for a new singer since Weiland left the group in 2008 after two studio albums. The band were strongly linked with Slipknot grunter Corey Taylor, but have yet to make any official new appointment.
