Former Streets mainman Mike Skinner is to release a new autobiography in March.

According to The Guardian, The Story Of The Streets will be a 352-page look at Skinner’s life, and sees him teaming up with writer Ben Thompson, who has also worked with the likes of Russell Brand and Vic Reeves on their own autobiographies.

Writing about the project on Twitter, Skinner has explained: “I wasnt going to have photos in my book coz i thought it was a bit silly but the wife said i had to… mum gave me a stack of photo album[s]. got a bit emotional. where i’m starting school and that.”

Mike Skinner shot to fame under The Streets banner back in 2002 with the stunning debut album ‘Original Pirate Material‘. The record landed the band a richly deserved Mercury Music Prize nomination later that year, and remains one of the standout British debut releases of recent times.

After retiring The Streets late last year, Skinner has now teamed up with Robert Harvey, ex frontman of The Music, to form the new band The DOT.
