The Maccabees have revealed they were immediately convinced their second album ‘Wall Of Arms‘ could be bettered once worked had been finished on that record back in 2009.

“We’re proud of ‘Wall of Arms’, really happy with it and glad of where it got us but we knew immediately as soon as we finished it that we could do more,” Felix White told XFM. “There are a few songs on the record that I think the rest of the record might not have matched.”

In the build up to the release of new album ‘Given To The Wild‘, the band have discussed finally finding their ‘true sound’ on the record, something immediately apparent on first single ‘Pelican‘. And The Maccabees’ third studio effort is now on course to become their first UK chart-topper, with midweek figures putting the LP one place ahead of Adele‘s smash-hit ‘21‘. The new Album Chart will be confirmed this coming Sunday (January 15th).
