The Maccabees‘ exciting start to 2012 has continued today with the news they will play their largest UK headline show to date next June.

The band, who recently enjoyed the biggest selling first week sales of their career with new album ‘Given To The Wild‘, will play the 10,000 capacity Alexandra Palace in London on June 8th this year.

‘Given To The Wild’ was released earlier this month, and has so far peaked at #4 on the UK charts. In our review, the Live4ever Ezine remarked:

‘…in striving for perfection it comes across as a wholesome and pleasant listening experience. You get the sense the band clearly enjoy what they are doing, something that is no surprise when you consider their success in instrumental experimentation; truly a wonder to behold.’ The full article can be read here.

The London date is preceded by a UK tour which is due to begin on March 5th at the Edinburgh Picture House.
