The Beatles have 2011’s biggest selling vinyl album in US

The Beatles‘ classic 1969 album ‘Abbey Road‘ was the biggest selling album on vinyl last year in the US, according to figures released by Nielsen SoundScan.

The organisation has revealed the LP sold 41,000 copies on the vinyl format during the course of 2011, putting it ahead of Fleet Foxes‘ excellent second record ‘Helplessness Blues‘.




Elsewhere, Radiohead, whose album ‘The King Of Limbs‘ was the fifth biggest selling vinyl in the US last year, had the highest number of sales in total, clocking up 64,000 units shifted.
