Paul Weller has become a father of twins after his wife gave birth last weekend.
A statement released on the Modfather’s official website has announced the arrival of John Paul and Bowie, an obvious homage to some of Weller’s heroes, and thanked fans for their support over recent months.
“Paul and his wife Hannah are happy to announce that their twins John Paul and Bowie were born on Saturday,” the statement reads.
“Both boys are healthy and doing well following the birth and Paul and Hannah are thrilled and over the moon. Paul would like to thank his fans for all their well wishes over the last few months.”
“Congratulations to Paul and Hannah!”
Paul Weller and Hannah married at a low-key ceremony in September 2010 on the Italian island Capri.
As well as an impending hectic personal life, Weller will also release his eleventh studio album in March. The record features contributions from Noel Gallagher and Graham Coxon.
